delivering to you

Timeless birth galleries

My approach to photography is centered on quiet observation and deep respect. Whether capturing the raw emotion of birth or the tender hours just after, I aim to preserve not just what you see, but what you feel.

With an unobtrusive, documentary style, I quietly witness your unfolding story—free from posing or pressure—so that your memories remain honest, sacred, and deeply human. These are images that speak in stillness and stay with you for a lifetime.

unlike a wedding... birth happens once...

Unlike a wedding, which can be revisited through anniversary getaways or vow renewals, the birth of your child is a singular moment—an unrepeatable threshold between before and after. In those fragile seconds, when the world seems to pause as your baby takes their first breath, every glance, every tear, every trembling smile carries a weight that words alone can never hold. Without photographs, those moments risk dissolving into memory, softened by time and blurred by exhaustion. By choosing to invest in your birth with photography, you preserve the poetry of that day—the awe in your eyes, the tenderness of first touch, the quiet miracle of beginnings.

These images become more than keepsakes; they are heirlooms, a timeless record of the day your family’s story truly began.

Golden Hour Sessions are the perfect little sister to birth photography.

Let's be honest, birth photography (while I wish it was) is not for everyone, and sometimes circumstance have a say in that.  These sessions begin to capture the time immediately following baby's birth, usually about 1 hour after.  It lasts 2-4 hours and aims to deliver around 75-100+ images depending on when you call me in.

This is different than birth photography because it does not capture the labor or delivery, the moments start with baby being weighed, measured, and spending time with Mom & Dad, rather than the complete story leading up to birth.

As your photographer, I will go on call for your Golden Hour session from 37 weeks until the birth of your baby to ensure that I am ready and able to get there as soon as you request me to.

Birth photography isn’t about getting the perfect shot—it’s about remembering what it felt like. The quiet between contractions. The way your partner held your hand. The moment everything changed and you met your baby for the first time. I’m not here to direct or interrupt—I’m there to witness. To hold space. To document the sacred unfolding of your story exactly as it happens.

These images aren’t just for now—they’re for years from now, when your baby is grown and you want to remember how strong you were, how loved you felt, how holy that day really was.

As your photographer, I will go on call for your birth from 37 weeks until the birth of your baby to ensure that I am ready and able to get there as soon as you request me to.

Seriously, why would anyone want pictures of "that"?

the question I wish I got paid to answer...
Amie Bogart photography, water birth, doula-tog, Gettysburg, PA, Hanover, Pa, Pennsylvania. Home birth, Birth Center. Birth Photographer.

The age old question. "Ew, why?"

Birth is not a singular moment.   While, yes, it can be "that" moment, often times in a gallery of 200+ images there are and average of 2 pictures of "that" specific moment–IF the family even wants those.

That is a whopping 1% of your gallery that has the actual "Ew, why? Gross!" moment.

The other 99% of your gallery is storytelling.

It's the way you look at each other, the way the light falls across the warmer, the fine details of the room where you are working so hard to welcome your baby, the emotions, the tears, the hard work.

THAT is what birth photography is about.   Not the moment they're born (though that matters too), not the "graphic" details, its about the story.

The story of the day you met your baby for the very first time.

what past clients are saying

Amie took birth photos for my daughter recently and she was AMAZING!

Amie took birth photos for my daughter recently and she was AMAZING! The birthing process is extremely personal. It’s also an emotional, stressful, and unpredictable time! Amie showed up around 4am and stayed until after noon! She was very considerate, professional, and with her doula background she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful explaining things if we had questions! We never felt awkward or like she was intruding, which I feel speaks volumes about her and her demeanor since we did not know her prior to hiring her to take the photos. When my daughter first told me there would be a photographer in the room (that she didn’t know) I was hesitant-but I’m so thankful that she chose Amie to be that photographer. It allowed me and her husband to be in the moment and not have to worry about taking pictures-and the pictures we received are wonderful and we will treasure them forever! 10 out of 10-I highly recommend Amie @ Dove and Lioness Doula to photograph your upcoming birth. I think this would also make an amazing baby shower gift for someone.
